The 63-year-old singer and his wife Trudie Styler have bought their new home in the “phase three” sale of homes in the £8bn redevelopment.
Details of which flat Sting has bought have not been revealed. Prices range from £590,000 for a one-bedroom flat to reportedly £30m for a penthouse apartment.
Speaking at the project’s launch party in New York, Sting said: “I have been an English Man in NYC for most of my life. But last month Trudie and myself, we visited Battersea Power Station and I have never been that close.
“I found it to have a kind of austere beauty. Yesterday Trudie and I bought an apartment. It seems to have been love at first sight.
“If you want me as a neighbour, I can promise you that I am very well behaved. My former neighbours in London were the Queen and the Prime Minister and they have not complained, I don’t practice in the house. I am house trained.”
Sting’s wife Trudie Styler said: “The exciting development plans for the whole site are a great solution for the regeneration of an iconic London landmark which has been in decay for the last 30 years.
“We are both very pleased to be part of this new community and really look forward to making our London home at the Battersea Power Station.”
Rob Tincknell, chief executive of Battersea Power Station, said: “I really hope they enjoy being part of this exciting development.
“The entire 42-acre Battersea Power Station site is now being transformed into a world-class destination, which will gather the best in class operators across the globe to create a unique place of which we can all be proud.”
